According to their report, young drivers are the worst offenders. The research puts texting and driving right up there with being under the influence of drugs and alcohol in the danger stakes.

The RAC carried out a report which showed that 48% of drivers between 18 and 24 used their phone for text messages while driving despite the stringent laws against it. In studies held on drivers between 17 and 24 it was found that the possibility of accidents were greatly improved while texting.
